Charleston Drinking Tours is your go-to locally owned and operated walking tour experience in the Holy City! Our main goal is to provide you with an entertaining and interactive tour experience while visiting Charleston. We offer two unique drinking tours (True Crime and Prohibition themed) plus a fun Ghost Tour that delivers a peek into the 350-year history of Charleston. When you've been around that long, some bad things are going to occur. Let us fill in those gaps with true stories about what took place.
During our walking tours, you will have the opportunity to explore some of Charleston’s most fascinating historical sites, including the Powder Magazine, Chalmers St which served as Pirates Alley during the early days of Charles Town, plus stops at Philadelphia Alley, the Old Exchange and the Tavern at Rainbow Row. You’ll also hear about the country’s first female serial killer and other facts about famous Charlestoniana that make our cities history unique and one-of-a-kind.
We operate tours Wednesday-Sunday at 4pm, 7pm and 10pm. Call us for special rates on groups of 8 or more!
Spirits of Prohibition.
A Roaring 20’s Tribute.
This 2-hour walking tour includes stories about how Prohibition began, the moonshiners and bootlegging it took to get people booze and how organized crime and those who became famous for getting caught making a living during the ’20s and early 1930s before the 18th amendment was repealed.
Tours start at 4 pm Thursday-Sunday and always start at the front of the US Custom House that faces Concord St. Each patron will enjoy a pre-designed cocktail at each stop, three in all.
Starting May 5th: Friday – Sunday, 4pm – 6pm.

Charleston’s True Crimes.
Holy City Homicide! – Charleston’s True Crime Stories is a 2-hour walking tour that covers both modern-day murder stories, along with some vintage tales from our wicked past! When you live in a town that’s over 350 years old, some shenanigans are going to occur. If you love true crime, this tour will satisfy that thirst, as will our bar stops of course!
Your tour guide will also share some of the great history of Charleston as you visit 3 bars on this very interactive tour. Drinks are not included.

Ghosts of the Peninsula.
Haunts, Pirates, & Death in SC
The Holy City has a history that’s 350 years old! This 2-hour walking tour will give you insight into the early settlers who battled mother nature, along with wind and storms that burned the city to the ground on numerous occasions, plus earthquakes and more!
Learn about how Pirates shaped the city’s future as a port. Hear about famous deaths & ghosts who still haunt the peninsula. This is not a bar tour, but a walking recount of famous haunts in Charleston.
